Medium becoming hard run
« on: January 18, 2019, 03:55:11 PM »
I'm going to throw it out there...
My parents are visiting from NZ in a couple of weeks and my dad really wants to see our Zooks in action. I'm thinking either a day trip to Swan Gully or an afternoon/dinner/evening run in Glasshouse depending on a couple of factors - including numbers so let me know who is keen for which trip. I'd like to make both open to non-members and entry level vehicles so don't be shy!

Saturday 9th Feb
If Glasshouse - start mid afternoon with some easy-medium wheeling suitable for all types. Break for dinner then those who are willing/able carry on with some hard stuff. If we go this option I'd really appreciate a guide  -h00k- as I still don't know my way around.
If Swan Gully - start early morning with some medium wheeling. Break for lunch then again, those who are willing/able carry on with hard stuff.

Before we go public, how many members would like to join?  The parents are keen on Glasshouse so whoís up for an afternoon/night run next Saturday 9th Feb? Starting light for possible non-members then getting more serious. Not mentioning any names but PETE could try out his locker  -h00k-

Oh, is there any chance I can borrow a trailer please?

So the (loose) plan is...
Meet at the Glasshouse lookout at 1pm for a 1:30pm start. Drive some medium-ish stuff. Stop for a bbq dinner back at the lookout, then play by ear of who wants head home and who wants to carry on.

Usual safety and recovery gear - especially bug spray after the recent rain.

Another fun wheeling trip - it has been far too long since my last one! We had a mix of cars so didnít go too hard, preserving panels was the priority although sadly that didnít quite work out. We had one car on its side before we all arrived and another take home a memento and motivation to work on a Zook.
Some good demonstration of a safe recovery thanks to some clever COLISO soft shackles and dampener for good measure.
Thank you everyone who came along and made my parents feel so welcome.

For some reason my pictures donít want to load at all, oh wait, thatís because I canít work my stupid phone. If you have FB there are plenty of pics there.
