Once again, trying to fix one problem has resulted in finding another...
Had a nocking sound on even road to engine speed, nothing on over run or acceleration.
Thinking valve clearance so checked them all, all ok.
I thought it was the power steer, as when I take the belt off, the noise dissapares free reving.
So yesterday I threw in a new power steer pump (thanks Vaughn

)
During the process I changed the pump fluid the engine oil and the subies engine oil
Took the vit for a drive problem noise still there???
Started cleaning up when I got home and found what looked like bits of bearing shell in the drained oil...
So now thinking the front main bearing is on its way out.
Question:
Has any one had experience of replacing the main bearing shells without removing the engine?
