Looks good.  Did you put that black foam behind the side lid panels?

Bit of a update since Fraser at the beginning of the month

Trip was good however i had a few issues, Water line got a hole in it, Electrical issues & clutch line decided it would pop a pin sized whole in the rubber causing no pressure on the clutch.

The water hose was touching on the chassis of the vehicle ( which i thought rubbed through) but after a closer look it was black around the leak. The new electrical system i put in the back didnt have enough Earthing. figured out that the Water hose ( being a stainless flexy hose) was giving the DC Charger a good enough earth while the battery was full. after having the fridge on over night before we left and starting the car the dc charger must have required a bit of thump into the battery which need amps and obviously the water hose wasnt strong enough to cope with the amp draw and it burnt out causing the plastic hose to melt and have a leak.

Bec was driving on Fraser Sunday all day with no issues. Pulled into camp put her foot on the clutch and it wouldnt pop out of gear. eventually pulled it out and the peddle stayed on the floor. quick look in the engine bay couldnt see anything, crawled under neath and saw the line and fresh fluid on it. pulled it off clean it up. quick walk around the camp. Mark gave me some rescue tape, Tim got me some electrical tape and double wall heat shrink. about 20mins later and a bleed of the system the clutch was back and semi working. drove home on the Monday which out using the clutch only for first or reverse.

Got a new Braided Clutch line Last week, and fixed all the Issues yesterday. Currently testing the new earth lead. have had the fridge on and the panel on it over night so seeing how it all will go this arvo. fingers crossed it will be working A OK

Big thanks to Mark and Tim for the parts to semi fix it and get me home.

Bit of a update, we went camping on the week 4-5th November, and on the 5th we ere involved in a bit of a accident In Warrill View.

Blue car had stopped facing south waiting for traffic to pass just over a blind crest. a Prado with caravan came over the crest hit the brakes, almost came to a stop when a fully loaded  Double truck came over the crest, it locked up took the caravan and prado out which pushed into turning car which came into our lane, i swerved blue car hit the Drivers rear wheel, slide me side ways, i was able to hang onto it and our exit path was grass. passenger side took out a Sign Post and the sign on post took out my awning and cross bars, could have been a hell of alot worse.

went to assessor yesterday, all will be replaced in the next 5 or so weeks.

Bit of an update

total smash costs came back at $11500 worth of repairs.

RACQ wanted to write the vehicle of because they would have been 1500-2000 in the rears.
11500 repairs
salvage 5000
market valvue 15000

so i said get F***** thats not happening, so after a few conversation we came to a agreement of cash settlement. i got a couple different quotes and they approved one of them which is why its a cash settlement.

so the current set up is going, tub, canopy, rear bar etc. i get to keep those parts sell them off, and im getting a alloy tray, alloy canopy, new awning and towbar.

so draws from current set up, water tank all electrical etc will be used in new tray.

This is something ive always wanted to do but never had the coin to do it.

Be very careful with load distribution in those bodies and this is the leading cause of chassis failure in dual cabs

Yea plan on keeping it another few years now.

and yes am aware of chassis issues, but all my weight will be above the axle so should be no issues.

Finally got somewhere over the Break, had the New tray and Canopy fitted up,

Tray looks super long because i havent got a towbar and my spare wheel isnt under neath yet but all in good time.

Have been working on new set up and this is the progress so far.

Curious..... how long is the tray & how much longer is it than your old style-side ute?

Looks like no need for an awning , or are you still thinking of putting one on for the length outwards.

So with tub and rear bar with tyre hanging off the back the tray is the same length as where the spare sat. just looks longer.

Looks like no need for an awning , or are you still thinking of putting one on for the length outwards.

not 100% sure yet, my Foxwing I had, Rhino rack have discontinued that model now as there is a new one being released, so i might see it goes first without one and just use the gazebo.
