Guys....

I've added a "RIM OFF-SET Calculator" into the attached spreadsheet in the 1st post to help those that want to change their rims, etc and want to know how much closer or further out their Rims/Tyres will sit from their Cars..... Hopefully it will be helpful to someone <ii>

cheers....
rob

PS: If u find any errors in it, please let me know and I will rectify them <ii>

pretty cool,
in the last page with the "stock suzuki gearing" theres a few details missed....
The sj 410 & the sj 413 were sold side by side for a few years in the early 80's in Aust...still got the brochures.. ::)

sj413 is the narrow track which run the 3.7's.
The wide track (sj70 or Samurai in US) has 3.9 diff gearing, and from factory were fitted with 205/70/15's which were about 26" in height..

The one litre (sj410) (and later the maruti's) with the 4.11's usually ran 16" rims with a 6.00/16 tyre which ran out at about 28.5inches in height when new.., at the same time the sj413's were being sold with Fr78/15 tyres which were about 27" tall.

In effect the 3.7s on the 27" tall tyre and the 3.9's on the 26" tall tyre equalled the same final drive ratio...
the lower profile tyre (and extra 80mm of wheeltrack) that defines the samurai/widetrack version was a response to meeting the US roll-over requirements pursued by the comsumer actions groups there. ???

cool done, have attached below...

just to really prove how nerdy I am, have also attached my excel of the ratios for the suzuki cars I have owned....

the graphs of the vitara & sierra speeds was for the rally work that Steve & I were playing with. The speeds were calculated at nominal max engine power rpm. ie 5500 for the 1.3 and 5250 for the 1.6.

the final attachment is my excel copy of the old suzuki specs website, that seems to have gone. it has many sierra's that were never brought to Aust, but for the lj or turbo import fan ( Kas/ hutch/Kymbo) it might be of interest...

Try giving robmacca or nissvit a pm. Might be your best chance if there is no joy in the links being fixed.
