For Sale/Wanted / Vitara for Sale - 1994 JLX Estate
« Last post by bugden23 on Today at 10:36:29 AM »
After 15 years in my possession I'll soon be putting up my 1994 JLX Vitara for Sale to make room for a bigger truck.

https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/meadowbrook/cars-vans-utes/1994-suzuki-vitara-jlx-estate-manual-suv/1219216687

It has been modified over the years to make it a great truck for off-road holidays, though it has been treated with kid gloves and not thrown around unnecessarily. It has been very well cared for, garaged, washed regularly and waxed three times a year. Ė Everything is in good working order and the car is still my daily driver. Power Windows, Mirrors, Steering : Central Locking & AC

It is clearly a high KM vehicle, however the top end of the motor has been rebuilt within the past ten years, and all of the auxiliaries have been replaced over the same period, AC, Alternator, Starter Motor & the power steering system.

Well suited for an enthusiast, there are also some accessories Iíd be happy to negotiate with as part of the sale as they fit the vehicle.

Modifications include:
2" Tough dog lift (spacers on top of 40mm Lift) - Camber adjustment bolts installed on the IFS to maintain correct camber
235/75 Cooper ATR's on 15" Alloy Wheels (70% Tread Currently)
ARB Winch Bar
IPF 800XS Spot Lights
Safari Snorkel
ARB Rear Air Locker (compressor mounted under passenger seat)
3" Steel front & center bash plate
Dual Battery System with AGM Second Battery.
12v Power outlets in the Boot
Wired Connector for 2nd Battery for connection to Solar Panels
Extractors and Uprated Exhaust
Decent Audio System
Rhino Commercial Bars (adjustable roof rails)
Tow Bar

Progress update:
picked up a good 2nd hand fuel tank from SuziSport Lawnton, now hidden behind an ADD Engineering guard, no more dents!

Have also been running the motor with a stocking filter in the top radiator hose to trap all the stuff that grows in a cooling system after being exposed to the elements for a couple of years, it was flushed before installing the stocking, this is what was captured post flush

Also the spare wheel is a bit too heavy to hang off the tailgate so for now this is how it's secured inside the vehicle

I'd fit another separate bar that either comes off the B pillar hoop or off your side rails.  B Pillar one would only have to step back 50mm or so therefore would look pretty neat.

Thanks Bruce, thatís actually cheaper than I thought they would be.
So Iím assuming the lap sections bolt into the standard seatbelt fixing points? Yes
I was having a look at Gregís mounts for the shoulder straps, because my roll cage diagonal bar sits higher, it will be a pain to fit another bar and come off that. I might need a low bolt point through the floor behind the seat or something.

Shoulder straps on mine is lower. I can take photos if it helps mate.
But remember. What's the cost of safeness.  You have seen the video or Casper's roll at Janowen.
You are MORE than welcome to come see how mine is set up

5 point harness I would recommend.  75mm webbing I find is the best.
As for brand I'd look at Motorsports in Brendale. MSA is what I use

Not a fan of the Cam lock as they can tend to get dust in and make it hard to clip up. Mine is quick release one.
Can send pictures if needed

After watching wheeling at Coffs and other events and seeing how well harnesses work, coupled with a mild degree of self-preservation Iím thinking of getting a harness for the project.

Any recommendations?
